Frequently Asked Questions

What is The Green Dream?

The Green Dream is the vision of the Beachwood Marketing students in their quest to unite economics, education, and the environment. By hosting an annual eco-friendly showcase, the students hope to unite consumers and businesses in a common goal of going green. The Green Dream also serves as a platform for teaching all of the marketing standards and competencies through an authentic hands-on model of learning. Students operate the company with a business hierarchy that includes a CEO, Production, Human Resources, Communications, Sales, Finance, and Marketing.

Where do the proceeds go?

Proceeds from The Green Dream have gone to build "The Ultimate Green Classroom" at Beachwood High School. This classroom is now the home of Mr. Perry’s Business and Marketing Students, as well as, open to the community, businesses, and schools to use for eco-friendly meetings.

Additionally, funds from The Green Dream go towards other school and community green initiatives, including the newly formed "Beachwood Green Leadership Alliance". This organization is the union of the City of Beachwood, Beachwood City Schools, and the Beachwood Chamber of Commerce. This organization was seeded with funds from the Beachwood Education Foundation with the goal of each organization working collectively together for a sustainable future.

How can I get involved?

If you would like to get involved with The Green Dream, please consider being an exhibitor or guest at the annual eco-friendly showcase. Business consultants are also encouraged to share green business ideas with the marketing students. Classroom partners are also encouraged to place green products in America’s Greenest Classroom - The Ultimate Green Classroom at Beachwood High School.

What is Junior Achievement?

Beachwood Junior Achievement is recognized as "The World's Most Successful Junior Achievement Company".

JA Worldwide is the world's largest organization dedicated to educating students about workforce readiness, entrepreneurship and financial literacy through experiential, hands-on programs.

Junior Achievement programs help prepare young people for the real world by showing them how to generate wealth and effectively manage it, how to create jobs which make their communities more robust, and how to apply entrepreneurial thinking to the workplace. Students put these lessons into action and learn the value of contributing to their communities.

JA's unique approach allows volunteers from the community to deliver our curriculum while sharing their experiences with students. Embodying the heart of JA, our 384,925 classroom volunteers transform the key concepts of our lessons into a message that inspires and empowers students to believe in themselves, showing them they can make a difference in the world.
